QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) is a high performance polymer-modified water-resistant cementitious  Skim Coat (Top Coat). It contains additives that provide good workability, consistency, water retentivity and adhesion. It is a special formulated high quality finishing coat that give durable smooth finish surfaces. IT SHOULD NOT BE USE ON PAINTED SURFACES.
TYPICAL USES
- Skim Coat (Base Coat) for plastered wall, block wall, concrete wall and ceiling to smooth out uneven, finish surface.
- Suitable to be used for internal application prior to painting job.
- Highly recommended for project with QLASSIC / CONQUAS / BQUAS requirement.
- Highly recommended to be used with QuickMix® Base Grey (380) to achieve good flatness and smoothness.

APPLICATION GUIDE
SURFACE PREPARATION
- All surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil and any trace of foreign materials.
- For dry or high absorbing substrates, moisten the surfaces with water prior to application.
- To achieve a good flatness, the substrate can be skimmed with QuickMix® Base Grey (380) prior to the application.

MIXING
- Mix one bag (25kg) of QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) with approximately 10 litres of clean water; OR
- Mix one bag (40kg) of QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) with approximately 16 litres of clean water.
- Mix thoroughly with an electrical mixer for 3-5 minutes until the desired homogeneous mortar is achieved.
- Ensure the mix is free from lumps before use.
- Remix for 1 minute if the mix mortar is left unused for more than 30 minutes.

APPLICATION
- QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) is applied onto the surface with a steel trowel.
- If application requires a few layers, the underneath layers must be dry before applying the subsequent layers.

- QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) is packed into two sizes, 25kg bags and 40kg bags

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
- QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) in its original packing, when stored in a sheltered dry place that is free from excessive moisture, shall have a shelf life of 6 months from its date of manufacture. Customers is encouraged to use the product promptly to avoid possibility of storage related contamination.

HEALTH & SAFE
QuickMix® QuickSkim (388) is non-hazardous. However, Lafarge Drymix recommends that appropriate safety equipment to be worn by workers when handling this product, including dust masks, rubber gloves, fuII eye protection and boots where necessary. In case of contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek immediate medical attention. For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
